Air quality deteriorates in Sumy Oblast due to fires in Russia
A deterioration in air quality was recorded in Sumy Oblast on the morning of 30 September due to an atmospheric vortex of dust and smog from Russia. Source: Sumy Hydrometeorological Centre Quote: "There is a serious deterioration in air quality in the eastern and north-eastern oblasts of Ukraine due to the atmospheric vortex of dust and smog from the territory of the Russian Federation.
While the dust was brought in from the Caspian Sea, the smog is actually from Russia. There are now large-scale forest fires there. All this mixture of dust and smog was brought in by a southeasterly wind."
