Moskalenko said this is UDSC's first major upgrade; previously, the enterprise had only repaired Soviet-era vessels. Following the upgrade, the ship now has two new Mitsubishi main engines that meet Euro-5 environmental standards, a new launch system, and two new Volvo Penta diesel generators. The Kapitan Antypov has also received a new engine cooling system, an automated oil level control system, an exhaust gas aftertreatment system, and more.

"The Kapitan Antypov can be considered a state-of-the-art ship because it meets ES-TRIN, the most modern European standard.

Many European companies' vessels that were built or upgraded 5-10 years ago do not comply with ES-TRIN," Moskalenko added. UDSC's management intends to demonstrate the benefits of the upgrade to international donors in order to secure long-term funding on preferential terms. The company is currently awaiting a decision on the feasibility of a deal from Ukraine's Ministry of Communities and Territories Development.
