Zelenskyy at UN: Ukraine is preparing for second Peace Summit

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed the UN's Summit of the Future and called for global unity to overcome the destructive power of Russia and its allies. Source: Zelenskyy's speech at the Summit of the Future, as reported by Suspilne Quote: "This time, during the work on the Pact for the Future, the same small group of seven accomplices led by Russia has once again acted destructively, always opposing any global initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness of the UN Charter.

This group has always behaved like this whenever the UN has tried to do something that works for the good of all.

The world needs a peaceful future and sustainable development. And I say this as the president of Ukraine, a country that is resisting Russia's brutal colonial aggression. And we know exactly how much global unity can achieve - both here at the UN, and through the Peace Summits for Ukraine, where we seek to overcome the destructiveness of Russia and its allies."

Details: Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is preparing for the second Peace Summit: working on food and energy security and bringing Russia to justice.

The release of prisoners and the restoration of territorial integrity will also be considered.

The president also thanked Germany and Namibia for their joint work on the Pact for the Future; Zambia and Sweden for facilitating negotiations on the Global Digital Compact; Jamaica and the Netherlands, which co-chaired the intergovernmental process on the Declaration on Future Generations; and African countries for their common position.
