The brigade's press service released a corresponding video. Units of the 47th Mechanized Brigade made a new breakthrough to the Kursk oblast that borders with Ukraine to support the defense forces operating in the Russian Federation. The operation involved American M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks and M2A1 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which engaged the enemy, who had taken up position in the forest.

The Russian positions were fired upon with the main armament of the IFV, which consists of a 25-mm automatic cannon and 120-mm guns of Abrams tanks. In addition, a TOW-2 anti-tank missile was fired to destroy the Russian shelter, and it successfully hit the target. In addition to American equipment, Soviet infantry fighting vehicles were used: BMP-2s from the 130th Battalion of the 47th Mechanized Brigade.

The Ukrainian infantry from the 33rd Assault Battalion was supported by artillery of the 21st Brigade, which covered the offensive units, and military equipment provided direct firepower. Russian positions were shelled with 155-mm high-explosive shells and cluster munitions. Due to the use of smoke grenades, the Russians were unable to use their own anti-tank systems.

In addition, the smoke prevented them from conducting accurate fire on Ukrainian armored vehicles in general.

The capture of Russian positions took place at coordinates 51.255721, 34.547971 due to the close work of infantry fighting vehicles with tanks and the adjustment of fire from a reconnaissance drone. The forest where the battle with the Russians took place is located near the village of Obukhivka.
