A fire broke out in the Moscow region of Russia in the town of Khotkovo on the territory of the Central Research Institute for Special Machinery. Russian local Telegram channels reported the news on Wednesday, October 30, and published video and photos of the incident. This enterprise produces parts for Russian rocket and space technology and other industries.

According to eyewitnesses among local residents, in the morning, the fire engulfed the workshop where the tests are being conducted. Thick smoke from the fire was visible in different parts of the city. According to preliminary data, the fire covered an area of 100 square meters.

The cause of the fire has not been officially reported. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations claims that the insulation allegedly caught fire, and there were no injuries.

The Central Research Institute for Special Machinery in Khotkovo specializes in designing and manufacturing structures made of polymer composite materials for rocket and space technology. The Institute also works in the interests of petrochemical engineering, transportation, energy and other industries.
