Assault, Africans and suicides: NGU shows Russian offensive in Donetsk region
The Soldiers of the "Freedom Force" Battalion of the 4th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine showed the main episodes of repulsing the summer offensive of the invaders in the Siversk sector. The full video of the battles was published on the unit's telegram channel. During the summer campaign, the Russian group of troops responsible for the offensive on the frontline from occupied Bakhmut to Siversk actively used the human wave tactics in an attempt to break through the defense of the Ukrainian forces.
One of the manifestations of this tactic was the widespread use of the passenger cars for the rapid frontal attacks, which resulted in heavy losses from artillery and mine explosions.

One of the reasons for such radical actions was the significant depletion of the main units of the invaders, which suffered heavy losses in armored vehicles and tanks. Most of them stopped at minefields or were hit by drones.

It is worth noting that both heavily equipped soldiers from the mechanized units and newly created rifle regiments were involved in the suicide attacks. In particular, one of the videos shows a legless African mercenary among the wounded. Earlier, Militarnyi reported that Russia was recruiting them from four countries on the African continent.
The Russians use them as a cheap resource in risky operations on the front line because of their low qualifications and lack of language skills: such soldiers cannot communicate and are not able to fight in an organized manner.

In particular, after the failed attack, one of the invaders shot himself with a personal weapon right on the camera of a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone.

The national guard soldiers inflicted significant losses in enemy equipment: one tank, three MT-LB tracked armored personnel carriers, as well as civilian vehicles.
In addition to these, a large number of combat vehicles can also be seen on the battlefield, the damage to which has not been documented.
