Drones attacked Russian microelectronics plant “Kremniy El”

On the night of October 19, strike drones attacked the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk. Footage of the fire was published by the ASTRA telegram channel. Kremniy El is one of the largest microelectronics manufacturers in Russia.

Its products are used, in particular, for military purposes. The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, did not report the drone attack on the plant.

According to him, only the attic of a non-residential building caught fire as a result of the drone strike. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, thirteen drones were allegedly shot down over the Bryansk region at night, two more over the Rostov region (no damage or casualties), and one over the Belgorod region (no consequences were reported). A few hours later, both Bogomaz and the Defense Ministry reported another drone attack.

It is known that since 2010, the plant has been allocated £5.5 million annually.

In 2014, the company reported that it had increased its output 8 times since 2000. In 2018, it was reported that the largest Russian microelectronics plant for the defense industry had increased its output by 40%. The company's trade volume in 2021 reached RUB 3.9 billion.

It is known that the products were used in strategic Russian programs for the development of the radar stations using AFARs (active phased array radars).

It is noteworthy that the Kremniy El plant has been repeatedly attacked by UAVs.

In September 2023, the Silicon El plant in Bryansk was attacked by drones for the third time.
