Over 100 thousand Ukrainian soldiers finished training abroad

We are talking about the period since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Main Department of Doctrine and Training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yevhen Mezhevikin, Ukrinform reports. He clarified that there had been different areas of training.

Both basic training and training of specialists, leaders and staff coordination. "In 2022, 2023, and 2024, more than 100,000 servicemen were trained in various areas of training on the territory of partner countries, starting with basic training, the specialists of various types/branches of the military, leadership training, staff coordination, etc." Mezhevikin stated.

The representative of the General Staff also added that cooperation with NATO countries and partners in training the Ukrainian military continued and was developing further.

"And this clearly confirms that Ukraine is not alone in the fight against the Russian aggressor," he summarized. At the same time, the French military is currently conducting training for 2,300 Ukrainian soldiers of the new brigade. France became the first country to train a fully-fledged Ukrainian brigade on its territory.

Thanks to this program, as of September 15, 2024, France has already trained almost 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

Since March, France has been training the Ukrainian pilots to fly Alphajet aircraft, which is a prerequisite for the transition to F-16 or Mirage 2000-5 fighters.

In October, the Romanian parliament also supported the creation of a training center for the Ukrainian marines.
