The Astra Telegram channel published the videos of the incident from eyewitnesses. The footage captures flashes and sounds of explosions and Russian air defense at the air base. Also, in one video, locals can hear the sounds of jets taking off from the air base after the attack began, probably to avoid being hit by drones.

Russian social media users claim that it could have been Su-27 fighter jets and Su-34 bombers. Following the reports of explosions, NASA's satellite fire monitoring system detected a fire in the vicinity of the Russian airport.
