Former Commander of Joint Forces of Ukrainian Armed Forces dismissed based on report by military medical board
Lieutenant General Yurii Sodol, the former commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was dismissed from military service based on the conclusion of a military medical board. The source did not provide any other details. Previously: MP Mariana Bezuhla, who is well-known for criticising the military leadership, has posted on her social media that Sodol left the army because of the military medical board's decision.

- Tetiana Ostashchenko, former Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has resigned from military service due to health issues.
She has also been removed from military records.
- General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Lieutenant General Serhii Shaptala, former Chief of the General Staff, were released from military duty for health reasons based on a report by the military medical board in March 2024.
- Bohdan Krotevych, Chief of Staff of the Azov Brigade of the National Guard, filed a request with Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) calling for an investigation into Lieutenant General Yurii Sodol, the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- Krotevych accused the general of abuse of power and incompetent command of troops leading to the loss of a large part of Ukraine's territory, and requested an investigation into the commander's potential collaboration with Russia.
The Azov Chief of Staff also said he was prepared to testify in the case.
- After the request was made public, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy replaced Sodol with Brigadier General Andrii Hnatov.
- The State Bureau of Investigation confirmed to Ukrainska Pravda that it had received a complaint and added that investigators were working on it.
