Ukrainian Air Force: Russia attacked Ukraine with an intercontinental ballistic missile

The Air Force Command reported on this. According to the military, the intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Astrakhan region. From the Tambov region, the Russians launched an air-launched ballistic missile, the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, from a MiG-31K fighter jet.

The attack also involved Tu-95MS strategic bombers, which launched seven Kh-101 cruise missiles from the Volgograd region.

The Russian invaders executed the attack on the critical infrastructure of the Ukrainian city between 5 am and 7 am. The air defense battle resulted in six Kh-101 missiles being destroyed by Air Force anti-aircraft missile units.

It should be noted that the day before, there were reports in the media and social media that Russia was allegedly going to attack Ukraine with a ballistic missile in the coming days. The reports stated that the attack could be carried out by an RS-26 Rubezh ballistic missile, which is a medium-range ballistic missile designed to deliver nuclear warheads. Some sources assumed the launch was planned from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region.
