This was reported by Russian media. The explosion of the Toyota Land Cruiser killed the chief of the colony, Sergey Yevsiukov. His wife was also injured - her leg was blown off, she is in serious condition in the hospital.
According to preliminary information, an explosive device made of plastid with a capacity of about 100 grams of TNT equivalent was placed under the car. SSU investigators and the Prosecutor General's Office served suspect notices to the former leadership of the Olenivka colony, including its head, 49-year-old collaborator Sergey Yevsiukov.
The services have collected evidence of war crimes committed by Yevsiukov and his involvement in the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region in July 2022.
Chief of the Olenivka colony and collaborator Sergey YevsyukovAccording to the investigation, the defendant was in office when, on the night of July 29, the Russian invaders set off explosions on the territory of the occupation prison, also known as the "Volnovakha colony of the DPR" in the village of Olenivka. At least 50 Ukrainian servicemen who were in captivity were killed as a result of the fire. At the same time, 9 of them died because they were not provided with emergency medical care.
Almost 150 were wounded. "It has been established that after the explosion, the suspects, despite the presence of serious injuries and a large number of victims, had deliberately delayed the provision of emergency medical care and evacuation of servicemen to a medical facility despite calls for help. They also failed to provide appropriate and sufficient medical supplies and means to provide assistance.
All of this led to the deaths of 9 Azov Brigade servicemen from their injuries before and during the evacuation," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a press release. Yevsyukov was also accused of torturing at least 100 Ukrainian prisoners of war in a "disciplinary cell" on the territory of the colony.
Terrorist attack in Olenivka
On the morning of July 29, Russian propagandists reported the deaths of Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Olenivka (the Donetsk region) in the occupied territory. The Russian disinformation network promoted the version that the prison had been attacked by Ukraine.
Later, the SSU released an intercepted conversation between militants of the so-called "DPR" in which they discuss the provocation and explosions from inside the building.
According to intelligence, the Russian side did not intend to immediately kill Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka.
Instead, a decision was made to execute them in order to hide the traces of torture and inadequate conditions of detention.
