The 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade stated the artillery system is always ready to support the infantry. "Always on the alert, always ready to support the infantry, providing the enemy with a hellish meeting," the brigade representatives noted. Back in 2022, the United Kingdom announced its intention to provide Ukraine with AS-90 self-propelled artillery systems and ammunition.
In July 2024, it was announced that Ukraine had received a total of 32 AS-90 artillery systems, 20 of which were fully operational.

Twelve self-propelled artillery systems were transferred to be used as donors for the removal of spare parts and installation on combat-ready vehicles. At the same time, the United Kingdom is providing Ukraine with new barrels for AS-90 self-propelled howitzers as part of its military assistance.
The UK Ministry of Defense has found a way to resume production of artillery barrels. The British company Sheffield Forgemasters will help with this. For a long time, the Defense Forces have effectively used these artillery systems to resist the Russian invaders.
