This is reported by the Turkish edition of TRT. The ISIS terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Kabul, which killed the Minister of Refugees and Repatriation Khalil Rahman Haqqani. According to ISIS, Haqqani was the main target of the attack.
A suicide bomber entered the ministry building posing as a visitor and detonated an explosive belt as the minister was leaving the building with security guards.

Khalil Haqqani was the uncle of current Taliban Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani and came from the influential Haqqani family. He played an important role in raising funds for the Taliban movement, using his close connections in the Gulf states. But after the Taliban returned to power in 2021, he took a public position in the new government in Kabul.
The assassination took place against the backdrop of a deep crisis in the Taliban movement itself. The Taliban government in Kabul is seeking to revive cooperation with the international community. Sirajuddin Haqqani even asked Western countries to train border guards.
At the same time, Taliban leaders in Kandahar, Afghanistan's second city, are unwilling to maintain ties with foreigners, arguing that there is antagonism to foreigners among the population. In early December 2024, Iran completed the construction of a 65-kilometer wall on the border with Afghanistan. Thus, the Iranian authorities want to stop illegal immigration from Afghanistan.
