Trump to nominate Kash Patel as FBI director

Trump's view of the FBI only worsened after his Mar-a-Lago resort was searched in August 2022, and Trump was later indicted for allegedly retaining classified documents. "Every day, the men and women of the FBI continue to work to protect Americans from a growing array of threats," the agency said in a statement to CNN.

According to anonymous sources in the US military, Trump seeks to create an environment that will listen to his opinions and have some control over these bodies to fulfill his whims. It's also worth noting that Patel has been a sharp critic of the FBI and in a podcast interview in September called for dismantling the agency's headquarters in Washington, D.C., and turning it into a "museum of the deep state."
