UK estimates Russia's losses in Ukraine could reach one million killed and wounded in six months
The United Kingdom estimates that Russia has lost over 750,000 military personnel killed and wounded in Ukraine, with this figure expected to reach one million in six months. Source: Luke Pollard, UK Deputy Secretary of State for Defence, in a speech to members of the House of Commons, as reported by European Pravda Details: Pollard noted that the UK Ministry of Defence estimates Russia's total losses in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war have surpassed 750,000 killed and wounded, with the figure expected to reach 1 million in about six months.
Advertisement:NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte recently estimated Russian casualties at 700,000, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in early December, stated that the total number of Russians killed and wounded had reached 750,000, with nearly 200,000 of them reported as killed.
Pollard also highlighted that, according to the UK Ministry of Defence, North Korean forces, numbering around 11,000, have been involved in Russia's offensive operations in Kursk Oblast.
"Our assessment is that it is highly likely that they have sustained significant combat casualties, whilst only achieving limited tactical gains," the deputy defence secretary said.
