Ukraine evacuates 34 people from Syria

Thirty four people have been evacuated from Syria in an operation carried out by Ukraine's Defence Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Ministry: 31 Ukrainian citizens and three citizens of Syria who are relatives of Ukrainian citizens. Source: Ukraine's Defence Intelligence on Telegram Quote: "On 21 December 2024, 34 people - 31 Ukrainian citizens and three citizens of Syria who are relatives of Ukrainian citizens and have permission to enter [Ukraine] - were evacuated from Syria to Ukraine, via Lebanon, on an order of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and as a result of a successful operation undertaken by Ukraine's Defence Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Ministry.

There are 15 minors among the evacuees."

Details: According to the report, the evacuees have landed in the Chisinau airport (in Moldova). They will continue their journey to Ukraine from there. Ukraine's Defence Intelligence thanked the Lebanese side, the Sky Up airline, and the Moldovan government for help in preparing the evacuation mission.
