Armed Forces of Ukraine Will Implement US Experience In Managing Life Cycle of Weapons

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov announced this. The official made this statement when commenting on the completion of an international course on weapons life cycle management by representatives of the Ministry of Defense. During the training, which was conducted by the experts from the Canadian government's PROTECT2 project, the specialized experts from the Ukrainian defense ministry deepened their knowledge.

In particular, they improved their skills in defense planning, defense program management, defense procurement, and life cycle management of weapons and military equipment.

The training was based on the experience of the armies of NATO countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Poland, Bulgaria, and others.

"This is important for the Ministry of Defence, as the knowledge gained will help our specialists improve the Ukrainian system of weapons life cycle management in accordance with the requirements of NATO standards," Klimenkov emphasized. Upon completion of the training, the specialists of the Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defence received the certificates of completion.

Previously, the defense ministry said that Ukraine, in cooperation with Sweden, planned to establish the repair and maintenance of CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.

Also, the details of the implementation of the contracts for the production of armored vehicles, including such infantry fighting vehicles, were agreed with Sweden.

Ukraine also plans to engage foreign partners to develop and modernize equipment for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the relevant document on the initiative of the Ministry of Defence.

The new mechanism applies to foreign defense procurement contracts and sets the clear terms of cooperation with foreign partners.
