Ukraine Returns Bodies of 757 Fallen Soldiers

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported about this on January 24. The defenders were killed in action against the invaders in the eastern and southern parts of the frontline. In particular, the bodies of 451 defenders were repatriated from the Donetsk direction.

Also, 71 dead soldiers were returned from the Bakhmut sector. Another 51 bodies were repatriated from the Vuhledar sector. And 13 bodies of fallen defenders were recovered from the Luhansk sector.

Also, 137 bodies were repatriated from the Zaporizhzhia direction. And 34 bodies were returned from morgues in Russia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will transport the bodies and remains to designated state institutions.

After that, law enforcement officials and forensic experts will identify the victims. After identification, the bodies of the Ukrainian defenders will be handed over to their families for a decent burial. The fallen defenders were returned thanks to the cooperation of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War with the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as other representatives of state bodies and structures.

In December last year, Ukraine managed to return 503 fallen soldiers for proper burial. On November 29, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that the bodies of 502 fallen soldiers had arrived in Ukraine. On November 8, the bodies of 563 fallen Ukrainian defenders were brought back.

And on October 18, the bodies of 501 fallen Ukrainian defenders were returned.
