Lithuania has transferred a batch of trucks and thermal imagers to the Ukrainian Defense Forces as part of military assistance. The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense reported on this. This batch of defense assistance includes not only machinery and equipment but also other property for the Ukrainian military.

"The EUR80 million aid package was announced by Lithuania at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting last week. It meets the most urgent needs of Ukraine and represents almost half of Lithuania's annual commitments to support Ukraine," the statement reads.

In general, the main areas of support for Ukraine this year include urgent needs for air defense, ammunition, drones, and counter UAS systems. The country also finances the Ukrainian defense industry from its budget by purchasing weapons produced by Ukrainian enterprises for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Lithuania will also contribute to the Mine Action Coalition, which it leads with Iceland, and to other international coalitions in support of Ukraine, of which it is a member.

Military support will also be provided through international funds and collective initiatives. Training of the Ukrainian military and rehabilitation of the wounded will continue. The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense notes that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Lithuania has provided military assistance to Ukraine worth more than 769 million euros.
