Source: Defense Intelligence of Ukraine A Nissan vehicle carrying Russian officers exploded in the Russian-occupied city of Skadovsk, Kherson region, on March 20, according to Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (GUR). Two officers of the Russian occupation army were in the pickup truck.

"The Muscovites' car was reduced to a pile of twisted metal," the GUR statement said. The agency also vowed that "for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people, there will be fair retribution."

Photos from the scene suggest that an explosive device was placed under the car, with the blast tearing through the interior and partially destroying the vehicle. Ukrainian special services have frequently targeted cars carrying Russian officials or individuals linked to Moscow's administration in occupied territories and inside Russia.

Usually, neither side claims responsibility for such attacks. While the Ukrainian side typically does not officially comment on such incidents, they sometimes hint at the involvement of Resistance forces. In December 2024, three Russian invasion army captains were killed in the Zaporizhzhia region in a high-precision strike.

In July 2024, a car carrying a senior Russian officer exploded in Moscow after an unidentified device detonated.

That same year, in Novosibirsk, Western Siberia, partisans infiltrated a military facility and set fire to several fuel tankers.
