The Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this in a post. Logistics specialists have accelerated the repair of American armored personnel carriers and are increasing the volumes of repairs and restoration thanks to the active supply of spare parts. This has made it possible to significantly reduce the waiting time for necessary spare parts, thereby maintaining a large number of vehicles in a combat-ready state.

In addition, the units of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carry out major repairs of the M113 not only at factories but also at military logistics bases, where, after the appropriate work is completed, they conduct test runs to identify any issues in a timely manner. "Even if something does 'pop up,' it's better that it happens here, near us than over there, with the guys. Evacuating damaged vehicles from the combat zone is quite a complicated and dangerous task," mechanic and driver Serhii, who is performing the test run of the M113, shared.

Serhii highly rated the American armored personnel carrier, noting its ease of handling, convenience in operation, and maintenance. The additional comfort comes from the automatic transmission, and the maximum speed of 56 km/h allows for quick deployment to positions and the evacuation of soldiers. The engine's fuel efficiency was also highlighted: "On 30 liters of fuel, you can drive all day," Serhii noted.

The repaired versions include both the M577 command post carriers, which have been upgraded for personnel transport, and the traditional M113. Serhii added that the size of this vehicle, unlike Soviet ones, allows for much more comfortable transportation of personnel and the evacuation of the wounded while also providing them with assistance. Militarnyi previously reported that M113 armored personnel carriers were armed with a new Ukrainian-made Tavria 14.5/7.62 remote weapon system.

The new turret for the M113 features a KPVT 14.5mm machine gun and a PKT 7.62mm machine gun, enabling operators to fire from within the armored vehicle while observing the battlefield via a monitor.
