Ukraine Receives Bodies of 909 Fallen Soldiers
28 March, 2025 Illustration on the theme of "losses". Photo: ArmyInform Ukraine has successfully returned the bodies of 909 fallen soldiers who died defending the homeland from the invaders.
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported about this on March 28. The defenders lost their lives during combat operations against Russian invaders on various sections of the front line. The fallen soldiers defended Ukraine in the Kurakhiv, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia sectors.
The bodies of the Ukrainian defenders have also successfully been retrieved from morgues on the territory of the aggressor country.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will transport the bodies and remains to designated state institutions. Following this, law enforcement officials and forensic experts will work to identify the fallen heroes.
After identification, the bodies of the Ukrainian defenders will be handed over to their families for a decent burial. The fallen defenders have been returned thanks to the cooperation of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War with the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as other representatives of state bodies and structures. Special thanks are expressed to the International Committee of the Red Cross for facilitating the return.
Previous repatriations
Last month, Ukraine managed to return the bodies of 757 soldiers who died fighting the Russian invaders in different parts of the frontline.
In December last year, Ukraine managed to return 503 fallen soldiers for proper burial. On November 29, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that the bodies of 502 fallen soldiers had arrived in Ukraine. On November 8, the bodies of 563 fallen Ukrainian defenders were brought back.
And on October 18, the bodies of 501 fallen Ukrainian defenders were returned.
