Details: The law enforcement reported that the agents operated separately but were all under the command of the same Russian handler, who had already been identified by Ukrainian counterintelligence.

The detained Russian spy had lived in Ukraine prior to the full-scale war and acquired his assignment from Russian intelligence after the invasion began. He established an observation point on the rooftop of a high-rise building in Kyiv after gaining access from a local housing co-op representative. The other two agents were a current and a former employee of Ukrainian defence facilities.

The first was gathering data on the aftermath of Russian strikes, while the second collected information from former colleagues on potential targets.

During searches, investigators confiscated computers, mobile phones containing intelligence reports and a drone that the group intended to employ for monitoring of defence facilities. All three suspects are now in custody. They have been formally charged under three articles of Ukraine's Criminal Code, including high treason.
