Updated: Sumy Oblast Military Administration noted that Russian forces had fired two ballistic missiles on Sumy city centre. Information about the aftermath of the Russian attack is being gathered. Later, Kobzar added that over 20 people had been killed.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reacted to the strike, indicating that "dozens of civilians have been killed and wounded".

Ukraine's Interior Ministry later reported that 21 people had been killed and at least 20 injured in the attack.
