More Marder IFVs: German government updates aid list

The respective changes appeared on the government website. According to the update, 40 more Marder infantry fighting vehicles are planned for future deliveries. The total number of Marder IFVs planned for Ukraine has reached 60 units.

Today, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have 40 infantry fighting vehicles in service. The German company Rheinmetall is engaged in the repair and modernization of vehicles.

Before that, information appeared on the web that 60 IFVs were being repaired at the company's plants in Kassel and Unterluss.

As Militarnyi previously reported, Ukrainian Air Assault Forces demonstrated their Marder 1A3 IFVs. In addition, there are other updates: Ukraine will receive one more Bergepanzer 2 armoured recovery vehicle, bringing the total number to 6.

5 SurveilSPIRE mobile reconnaissance systems are also added, bringing their number to 10 units. It is worth noting that the list of planned aid is designed for the long term and all weapons and equipment must arrive in Ukraine by 2027.

The total value of the planned assistance is EUR19 billion.
