The Russian media outlet RIA Novosti reported on this with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Russia. According to the Russians, the aircraft went down within the airfield. There are allegedly no destructions or casualties on the ground.
The cause of the accident is being investigated. According to preliminary information, one of the crew members was killed in the crash. "An L-39 training aircraft of the training aviation regiment crashed during the landing approach.
The plane crashed within the airfield," the statement reads. The L-39 training aircraft is designed to train flight personnel. It is worth noting that L-39 crashes are not uncommon.
In 2020 alone, two of these training aircraft crashed in Russia. At that time, a training aircraft also crashed in the Krasnodar Krai, killing a cadet pilot. In another case, the pilots on board ejected and were not injured.

The commission of the aviation safety service of the Russian Armed Forces usually investigates the causes of these incidents.
