The news about this was made public on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. By order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov dated August 28, the following samples of foreign weapons were adopted for service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

  • VZ.77 DANA 152mm self-propelled howitzer gun
  • Zuzana-2 155mm self-propelled gun
  • TRF1 155mm self-propelled howitzer
  • M101 105mm howitzer
  • M/41D 120mm mortar
  • EM-8282 82mm mortar
  • Warrior 82 mortar

All of the above types of weapons have been used for a long time by the Defense Forces in the war against the Russian Federation in the status of "allowed to operate," which allowed their operation without passing state tests.

However, only now they have been officially adopted. At the moment, this procedure is quite simple - its key factor is the presence of a NATO code for weapons received within the framework of international technical assistance. Using this mechanism, the Ministry of Defense can quickly, without delay and red tape, adopt weapons and military equipment into service.

"This is an extraordinary breakthrough in the system of supply for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This practice has already been tested, and we use it to quickly and rhythmically adopt foreign weapons into service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It fully meets the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and complies with the approaches of our partners," said Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.

The function of providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with types of the aforementioned weapons is entrusted to the Central Control of the provision of ground weapons systems by the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, from February 24, 2022, the Ministry of Defense has adopted and allowed the operation of 246 units of weapons and military equipment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is hundreds of times more than in any year since Ukraine's independence. According to the ministry, 82 samples of unmanned aerial systems are also included in the number of weapons admitted to operation.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported on the admission to operation of seven samples of reconnaissance unmanned complexes of Ukrainian production.
