Turrets, unmanned ground platforms and FPV drones transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

31 August, 2023 Ground platforms transferred to the army. Photo credits: Army of drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been handed over remote control turrets, unmanned ground platforms, FPV drones and quadcopters.

This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. "More than 1,000 drones and 30 robotic systems were sent to the front. These are Ukrainian innovative developments that will help the military fight remotely and, most importantly, save lives," the minister said.

25 Shablya (Sabre - ed.) remote weapon systems have been transferred. This system for weapons can be installed on a vehicle, in a dugout, trench or other place.

Operators can control the turret from a safe place and strike enemy positions.

The military also received 5 Lynx unmanned ground platforms, which transport weapons and equipment to hot spots. Lynx UGV can be combined with the Shablya turret and become a full-fledged combat robotic platform. In addition, 900 FPV drones and more than 100 Mavic and Matrice quadcopters were handed over.

"Technology and innovation play a key role in modern warfare. To win, more drones and military innovation are needed. We continue technological mobilization," Fedorov emphasized.

Militarnyi reported that unmanned robotic platforms are one of the priorities of the Ministry of Defense.

The priority of the development of these platforms is worked out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which outline their wishes and needs for such equipment.

The military also has feedback from developers on the use of their equipment.
