Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink stated this. MRAP vehicles will allow law enforcement officers to protect civilians near the front line. The U.S. ambassador noted that MRAP vehicles will be delivered to Ukrainian border guards and police.

"I am proud to stand with Acting Deputy Secretary Nuland and my colleagues at the State Department to mark the delivery of the first U.S.-provided Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles to Ukrainian border guards and police," the U.S. diplomat said. Brink also posted a joint photo with Acting Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and colleagues from the U.S. Department of State.

Earlier today, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also met with Ukrainian border guards, to whom the United States is handing over American MRAP vehicles. "We visited border guards to see how they continue to protect Ukraine's territory and people.

We are providing £300 million in new funding to Ukraine's law enforcement sector to continue this important work. The United States remains united with Ukraine," said Blinken. The head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Serhiy Deyneko, discussed with Blinken the projects already implemented to strengthen the capacity of border guards and further assistance.

At one of the units, a delegation from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine learned more about the tasks of the border guard agency and the assistance received by the State Border Guard Service as part of joint projects.

"If not for the help of international partners, in particular INL, our losses would have been much greater.

Because our partners provided the border guards with bulletproof vests, protective helmets, etc. on time," emphasized Deyneko.

As previously reported, the U.S. is preparing a new batch of cluster munitions for Ukraine.
