Soldiers buried with their hands tied found in Izium – Ombudsman
STANISLAV POHORILOV -- FRIDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER 2022, 18:30 Dmytro Lubinets, the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament), told reporters that 20 servicemen whose hands were tied behind their backs have been found buried in the liberated city of Izium in Kharkiv Oblast. Quote from Lubinets: "We have found about 500 civilian burial sites. And so far, one mass grave has been discovered, where approximately twenty servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were buried."
Details: According to him, Ukrainian soldiers were found shot dead with their hands tied behind their backs. It is obvious that the dead soldiers were prisoners of war.
Law enforcement officers believe that they were first tortured and then executed. Lubinets does not rule out that this may not be the only such military burial site in Kharkiv Oblast. Previously:
