Consequences of the attack on the Russian Khalino air base become known

As a result of the attack on the Khalino military air base, high-ranking officers and pilots were killed or wounded. This is reported by Babel, citing sources in the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. On September 24, the Russian Khalino military air base, located seven kilometers from Kursk, was attacked by a Ukrainian attack drone.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, among the killed or injured in the explosion were, as follows: the commander of the 14th Aviation Regiment, his deputy, a group of aviation officers and a representative of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. Currently, the intelligence is clarifying information on their condition.

Strike on the air base

Officials of the aggressor country's Defense Ministry confirmed the attack, saying that the drone was successfully intercepted in the area of a military facility. However, according to the media and sources connected with Russian military aviation, the situation developed differently.

"The downed drone fell in the area of the military airfield. During the inspection of the place of the fall, its self-destruction occurred. Unfortunately, there are casualties," Russian media said.

According to another version, the Russians managed to intercept the drone using electronic warfare and landed it on the runway. It is known that the explosion occurred when a group of Russian soldiers attempted to inspect the drone. According to the invaders, the downed drone was equipped with special sensors that activated the warhead during an attempt to inspect the UAV.

It is worth noting that the 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment is armed with Su-30SM fighter jets.

Elimination of the pilots and the unit's command will weaken the unit of the invaders.
