The Russians are launching an autumn draft, which will take place in the temporarily occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on this.
The illegal conscription starts on October 1, and the transportation of conscripts from the assembly points is scheduled for October 16. The term of service for illegal conscription will last for 12 months. The young people will go to permanent deployment centers in Russia from the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
As part of this year's fall conscription, the Russians plan to draft 130,000 young men aged 18 to 27.
In April 2021, Militarnyi reported that militants from the so-called DPR and LPR were organizing illegal conscription. Back then, they planned to conscript 400 people. In addition, in 2021, it was reported that Russia conscripted young men from the occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions who hold Russian passports.
In April, it was reported that the so-called district administrations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine were instructed to transfer the lists of Russian passport holders to the local "military commissars".
