Russians are developing a new surface-to-surface missile for launches from the S-400 SAM

Russian industry is working on a new operational-tactical missile, which can be used with the launchers of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system. This conclusion can be drawn based on the analysis of the video demonstrated by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council. On September 29, he visited the Kapustin Yar missile weapons testing range.

There he was allegedly demonstrated a new surface-to-surface missile. The launches, if any, were not included in the video of the Russian official. Instead, two launchers, likely 5P85??2 from the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system, were captured.

Medvedev was also presented with slides listing the technical characteristics of promising weapons, but the video quality does not allow for the text to be read.

One of the graphs probably demonstrates the ballistic trajectory of the missile.

Medvedev read out a prepared text stating that the new missile has an increased warhead and range. He also voiced the task facing the developers - to ensure the missile's resistance to the latest Western-made missile defense systems.

Russia has already shelled the territory of Ukraine several times using 48N6 missiles.

One such case was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.

The firing range already allowed Russians to reach the Ukrainian capital from the territory of the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation.
