The press service of the Ukrainian Navy reported this. A few weeks ago, the Navy Intelligence Directorate received information from operational sources about two paratroopers who had been in temporarily occupied territory since the beginning of the invasion. The soldiers were seriously injured during the battles with the Russians and could not independently get to the controlled territory of Ukraine.
All this time, local residents were sheltering the soldiers. The decision was made to conduct a special operation to rescue and evacuate military personnel.
Preparation and conduct of a rescue special operation was entrusted to the Navy "Angels" special unit. Within a short time, an evacuation plan was prepared, and the Air Assault Command was also involved in its implementation. Air Assault units provided fire cover during the group's engagement.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine also played an important role in the implementation of the operation.
The location of the rescue operation has not been disclosed.
Thanks to the joint efforts of two servicemen who had been in the occupied territory for over a year and a half, they were brought back to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
