"It is dangerous in the Ukrainian sea, so we cannot resume shipbuilding work, our foreign customers simply cannot safely reach us. But resuming repairs is already a good sign," said Dmitry Krasnikov, CEO of Smart Maritime Group. In 2021, SMG modernized 6 boats and repaired 51 vessels, increasing revenue by 17% to UAH 440 million.
But in 2022, due to a full-scale invasion of Russia, the company was forced to terminate previously concluded contracts, in particular, for the construction of two hulls for a company from the Netherlands, a full-fledged tug for a Ukrainian customer, and an agreement for the manufacture of metal structures. In 2017, at the Black Sea Shipyard (the Mykolaiv site of the Smart Maritime Group company), a naval diving vessel U700 Netishin of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was repaired. The contract value of this order was almost 6 million UAH.
