Police begin investigating attack on journalist Mykhailo Tkach

During this time, the police received no statements or reports of obstruction of journalistic activities. However, upon discovering an article about obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists by investigators of the State Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv Oblast, criminal proceedings were initiated (Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code)." Details: The police also reported that on 18 November, the journalist of the outlet sought medical treatment for injuries sustained as a result of a conflict near a restaurant.

The doctors reported the incident to the police, as is the procedure in such cases.

"A pre-trial investigation has been launched, during which additional qualification [of the crime committed] is possible," the police added.
