The Belarusian media Motolko Help reported on this. As part of the deployment of infrastructure for the newly created Southern Operational Command, a training ground and a military town will be built in the Gomel region. Preparatory work for the construction is currently underway.

The exact location of the military facility is currently unknown. However, its proximity to the railroad infrastructure is important for its location. This is necessary for easy transportation of goods and heavy-tracked vehicles.

According to the publication's journalists, the probable places for the construction of the future military training ground may be the territories along the Gomel-Kalinkovichi railway line.

The journalists analyzed railway stations suitable for unloading military equipment and equipped with a loading platform. This helped to identify four potential sites for the construction of the training ground.

The most likely locations for the military facility are sites in the forests east of the settlements of Borkhov and Svidovka due to their proximity to the railroad and public roads and the construction site of a new military camp.

The previous use of the territories by the military also points to the possible construction of a training ground near the above two villages. Currently, there are no visible signs of the construction of a new training ground. If construction starts (probably in 2024), its signs will be spotted both on satellite images and in open sources.

Deployment of troops on the border

In March of this year, Belarus formed a new anti-aircraft missile regiment in the Brest region bordering Ukraine.

The newly created military unit is located in the city of Luninets, not far from the Rivne region of Ukraine.

The photos published by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus feature the S-300PS anti-aircraft missile systems, which were probably adopted into service with the new regiment.
