Polish border blockade continues, but there positive dynamics – Ukraine's Border Guard Service

Polish protesters are continuing to block the movement of Ukrainian lorries in three directions, but there is a positive trend of increasing the throughput of traffic at the recently unblocked Yahodyn checkpoint. Source: Andrii Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda Details: The most difficult situation remains on the border with Poland.

Three routes - through Rava-Ruska, Krakivets and Shehyni - continue to be blocked by representatives of Polish hauliers and farmers.

Polish border guards reported that there were approximately 2,600 lorries in queues in these three directions heading for Ukraine as of the morning of 15 December. The biggest one is opposite the Shehyni checkpoint. Quote: "But I can say that there is a fairly good, positive dynamic at the Yahodyn checkpoint.

As you know, it was unblocked on 11 December. The flow of freight traffic gradually increased every day. And yesterday, more than 1,200 lorries crossed this point of the border in both directions.

More of them were heading towards Ukraine. And these are, in fact, almost the same figures as before the blockade on 6 November. Of course, there are still a large number of vehicles in the queue (1,700 in Poland travelling towards Ukraine), but if such traffic is ensured in the future, it will allow faster crossing of the border in both directions."
