Details: Zelenskyy reported that emergency electricity shutdowns were implemented in the majority of the cities and regions of Ukraine on Friday, 16 December. "Water supply was suspended in the city of Kyiv and 14 oblasts due to electricity shutdowns", - he stated.

The President also asked the members of local and regional administrations "to be more active in creating an additional reserve of energy strength" - cooperate with businesses to involve them in the Invincibility Points.

Background: Russians launched a large-scale missile attack on the civil infrastructure of Ukraine on 16 December. The occupiers launched 70 cruise missiles and 4 guided aircraft missiles; 60 cruise missiles were shot down by the air defence of Ukraine.

A few facilities of the energy infrastructure as well as residential buildings in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts were damaged due to the strikes.
