According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, placing the system on a vehicle chassis allows for much faster deployment and retraction of the UAV, as well as the ability to quickly change location, which literally saves the lives of operators from enemy counterattacks. "The most important thing about this system is its ability to operate in conditions of active jamming by electronic warfare.

It is also capable of conducting reconnaissance at a distance of more than 100 kilometers. During the defense of Kyiv, we flew a similar system 95 kilometers from the launch point. And it can stay in the air for more than 5 hours: this means that PD-2 can cover the needs of more than one artillery unit in one flight," says the commander of the DIU's intelligence unit with the call sign "Ruben."

PD-2

PD-2 is a multi-purpose reconnaissance unmanned system of operational and tactical level, developed by Ukrainian company UkrSpecSystems.

These are drones with a flight range of over 200 kilometers. The Ukrainian-made drone has an internal combustion engine. The total distance of the PD-2 flight route can reach 1000 kilometers or more.

PD-2 does not always require a runway for take-off, as these UAVs can take off vertically. The PD-2 UAV can operate in the air for up to 12 hours. Each drone has an optical sensor with a 30x zoom for daytime mode and a 5x zoom for thermal imaging.

The PD-2 drone can clearly identify the target coordinates in the frame at a distance of more than 5 kilometers.
