More shells and Gepard: Germany Increases Military Aid to Ukraine

The relevant information appeared on the official website of the German government. It is reported that Ukraine will receive shells of an unknown type for Leopard 2A6 tanks. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will also receive three additional Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, out of a total of 49 planned for delivery.

In addition, Germany has increased the amount of ammunition planned to be transferred to Gepard by 30,240 units, bringing the total to 116,362.

The increase in volumes also extended to 155-mm artillery ammunition: the German government increased the number of units from 33,390 to 35,890, and the number of 40-mm grenades saw a rise by 25,536 units. Ukraine will receive two additional Wisent 1 engineering vehicles, bringing the total number of units to 14, and 10 additional VECTOR drones, bringing the number of drones to 162.

Germany has increased the number of armored vehicles by two units, bringing the total number to 243, and Ukrainian helicopters will receive two additional AMPS protection systems. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 8 additional Mercedes-Benz Zetros trucks, 2 RMMV HX81 trucks and 5 trailers, and 8 vehicles.

Militarnyi previously reported that Germany would provide Ukraine with more Marder infantry fighting vehicles than previously reported.

Of the 120 infantry fighting vehicles, 40 were purchased from the Hellenic Armed Forces and handed over to Rheinmetall for repair and modernization.

Other IFVs, in the amount of 80 units, were transferred to Ukraine from the depots of the Bundeswehr and Rheinmetall.
