Mamai naval drones were produced for the SSU

The Security Service of Ukraine uses Mamai naval drones for special operations in the Black Sea. The SSU commented for the first time on the development of these naval drones. The Security Service of Ukraine noted that surface drones have actually changed the conduct of naval operations.

"Thus, the Mamai drone is currently the fastest object in the Black Sea and can accelerate up to 110 kilometers per hour," the SSU said. The SSU also uses Sea Baby drones.

The Head of the SSU Vasyl Maliuk pointed out that the Sea Baby drone had successfully attacked the Crimean Bridge and other Russian targets and called the UAV a multi-purpose platform that is in effective use today. The SSU reported that the naval drones that damaged the Crimean bridge in July 2013 were equipped with a 850 kg warhead. In October 2022, SSU naval drones attacked Russian Black Sea Fleet ships in Sevastopol Bay, damaging the Admiral Makarov frigate in particular.

In 2023, SSU drones hit the Samum hovercraft missile ship and Pavel Derzhavin patrol ship, the SIG tanker, the Olenegorskiy Gornyak landing ship, and damaged the Professor Nikolay Muru tugboat and the newest Vladimir Kozitsky anti-mine ship. Drones were used to hit landing craft and tanker, each containing 450 kg warhead.

According to Vasyl Maliuk, these drones are the result of months of development that began immediately after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

As previously reported, the Russian company KMZ has recently unveiled the Oduvanchik naval drone, which is based on a similar design to Ukrainian drones.
