The Netherlands delivered a significant batch of military equipment, including YPR-765 infantry fighting vehicles and DAF YA-4442 trucks, to Jordan. The Dutch Ministry of Defense announced that they sold and shipped their outdated military equipment to Jordan. In total, the Netherlands' Project Team for Ground-Based System Disposal delivered 200 DAF YA-4442 trucks, 56 YPR-765 infantry fighting vehicles, and spare parts.

The equipment, which is over thirty years old, was initially transported from military bases to training grounds for final inspection. Transportation was done with a civilian ship chartered by Jordan, as the responsibility to transport and unload is borne by the buyer country.

This project will financially benefit the Dutch armed forces.

Jordan has been a regular buyer of surplus Dutch military equipment since 2018. A key element of this supply is the 53 YPR-765 IFVs. Although these vehicles are quite old, they remain a notable addition to the Jordanian arsenal.

In 2012, the Dutch Armed Forces retired the YPR-765. In early 2022, the country had up to 500 such armored vehicles in storage. The vehicles were used by the armed forces of the Netherlands and Belgium as armored personnel carriers to transport personnel in mechanized units.

"Compared to infantry fighting vehicles of the Soviet Union model, these armored personnel carriers are much more maneuverable, easier to control, equipped with an automatic transmission, and easy to maintain," the Ukrainian military noted. The squad compartment houses seven equipped soldiers who load and leave the vehicle through the ramp.

European countries have also been supplying these IFVs to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces actively use them during assaults on Russian positions.
