SOF soldiers captured invaders near Avdiivka
5 February, 2024 The Russian invader was captured by SOF operators in the Avdiivka area, February 2, 2024 During a battle on the outskirts of Avdiivka, Special Operations Forces soldiers captured four Russian soldiers. The Butusov Plus Telegram channel released the video.
On February 2, Special Operations Forces soldiers destroyed an enemy group near Avdiivka that is now being actively stormed by the Russian military. They also managed to capture four Russian invaders who were hiding in the basement of a house. As the author of the video notes, at least some of the Russian military were concussed. Presumably, they could not continue the fight and surrendered.
Battles in populated areas are difficult due to dense buildings and the presence of basements, from which it is difficult to knock the enemy out. Ukrainian troops frequently use drones to "drive the Russian military out" of such buildings and to minimize their own risks and possible losses from close fire. Footage of an enemy being knocked out of basements near Avdiivka was released by soldiers of the God's Work drone company of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade Magura.
However, as the video shows, even with these methods, it is difficult to do so. Trapped in basements under the rubble, Russian soldiers are digging in and resisting. As previously reported, at the end of January, the Ukrainian military used tanks to eliminate Russian invaders who had entered the streets of Avdiivka.
"In Avdiivka, during the assault, our tank destroyed a group of invaders at close range," a serviceman said.
