Ukrainian Defence Forces use incendiary drone drop munition against Russian shelters

The @aerobomber_ua Telegram channel released a video of the use of this technology. The footage captures drones dropping ammunition on Russian military positions, hitting a tent shelter, which was apparently a warehouse of provisions and flammable materials. After the storage was hit, small explosions resembling gas cylinder ruptures were observed, and plaques could be seen in the fire, confirming the guess of the composition of the provisions.

The use of incendiary ammunition helps to effectively combat enemy hideouts, destroy their supplies and equipment, and make it much more difficult to stay in position. Militarnyi recently reported that the Ukrainian military increasingly uses new models of fixed-wing FPV drones with a longer range.

Judging by the available footage, the new drones are equipped with day and night optics to operate in various conditions, which are located on the left side of the wing. Open sources report that depending on the battery, Darts drones are capable of carrying a combat unit weighing 4 kg at a distance of 40-50 km, and their operation radius is 30 km.

Russian sources who have already encountered this type of drone note that they are most likely used together with relay drones. The use of a repeater is necessary for efficient operation at maximum distances.

On February 11, it was reported that in 2024, the Ukrainian defense industry will produce more than one million FPV drones.

This was stated by Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Fedorov also noted that in December 2023, the state delivered 50 times more drones than in all of 2022.
