The video of the interception was released on the channel of the unit. Soldiers of the "Ajax" unmanned strike systems unit of the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade shot down a Russian drone in the sky over the left-bank of the Kherson region near the village of Krynki. Nowadays, this is the first known case of interception of an enemy fixed-wing type UAV using an FPV drone.

The video shows how a Russian strike drone discovered in the air chases a Ukrainian drone, which from the second run-up manages to hit the target. According to the Commander of the "Birds of Magyar" unit, Russians in this direction recently began to receive the first batches of fixed-wing strike drones.

They carry on board a warhead weighing from 2.5 to 5 kilograms. Judging by the image quality and lack of secure communication, this drone was assembled from standard components for FPV drones. It is equipped with a single rotor located in the nose of the fuselage and a camera under it.

This layout makes it possible, at comparable cost with copter-type FPV drones, to obtain a greater range and maximum payload weight.

More about this type of drone can be read in the article "Fixed-wing FPV drones are becoming more popular on the frontline".

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian military also managed to intercept the signal from the camera of an enemy drone. Presumably, it was found using the geolocation of the landscape and determining the direction of flight. The Commander of the "Birds of Magyar" unit said that this had been achieved thanks to the Kulibin DIY EW systems.

He also noted that drones, even after falling, could remain dangerous and could explode.

In general, from 17 to 19 February alone, Forces of Marine units of Territorial Defense and a "Birds of Magyar" Battalion managed to capture 83 drones, of which 57 were successfully neutralized.
