Ukraine’s Foreign Minister after Russian strike on Kherson: Ukraine needs more active support from West

Dmytro Kuleba, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, has called on the West to provide active and long-term support for Ukraine after a Russian strike on Kherson where at least eight people were killed. Source: European Pravda, citing Kuleba's Twitter Quote: "Christmas Eve.

A Russian terror strike on Kherson leads to multiple civilian casualties. While families in Europe, North America, and beyond prepare festive dinners, spare a thought for Ukraine, which is fighting evil right now. We need your active and lasting support to prevail."

Details: The Russian troops hit the centre of Kherson city on 24 December. According to the last information available, 8 people have been killed and 58 wounded. Bridget Brink, the US Ambassador to Ukraine, has condemned the attack. 

Background: The only oblast centre that Russia managed to capture since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February was Kherson.

It was liberated in the beginning of November as a result of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
