This Battalion of the Ukrainian Navy was formed only in 2019. It is involved in aerial reconnaissance and electronic intelligence. The Battalion also provides fire support, which the new 120mm mortars should strengthen.
"Such an increase in the firepower of the unit was made possible thanks to UAH 3,000,000," the Fund said.

The Fund noted that for 2023 and the first three months of 2024, 140th Battalion had received the help from the Come Back Alive Foundation for more than UAH 45 million. "From tablets for adjusting fire to unmanned aircraft systems and mortars," the fund noted. As previously reported, in 2022, the Come Back Alive Foundation became the first charitable organization in the history of Ukraine having received a license for the purchase of dual-use and military goods, including lethal weapons.
This status, most importantly, gives the Fund the right to buy appropriate goods from manufacturers directly, without intermediaries.

"And it means that it not only reduces the price, but also protects against low-quality goods and unscrupulous sellers," the Fund says. In March this year, it became known that the Fund had completed the transfer of 300 mortars to Ukrainian defenders.

The fund ordered them from a domestic manufacturer together with the OKKO network of gas stations.
