4 April, 2024 The moment of defeating enemy personnel. Freeze frame from the SOF video The operators of the 73rd Maritime Special Operations Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used HIMARS to target the invaders who were constructing fortifications.

This was reported by the press service of the Special Operations Forces (SOF). During reconnaissance operations in the southern direction, SOF discovered enemy personnel constructing new fortifications and control posts. The operators transmitted the coordinates for the strike to the missile-artillery unit and adjusted the fire toward the enemy position.

It is reported that, as a result of the strike, 14 Russian servicemen died and 7 were injured. Judging by the interface, target detection and artillery adjustment were carried out by the Ukrainian Shark reconnaissance drone.

Recently, Militarnyi reported that the operators of the Special Operations Center "East" (former 3rd Special Forces Regiment) targeted HIMARS at the R-330Zh Zhitel electronic jamming system in the Zaporizhzhia region. Previously, on March 26, 2024, it was reported that in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces helped destroy the Russian Buk air defense system.

The system was deployed in the field for combat duty but proved incapable of detecting and shooting down the Ukrainian reconnaissance drone. The destruction of the BUK air defense system by Ukrainian gunners required only one GMLRS rocket fired from HIMARS.

Before that, on March 12, the Special Operations Forces reported on the destruction of the 9A310 TELAR or 9A39 TEL of the Buk-M1 enemy air defense system.

The BUK air defense system component was neutralized by a GMLRS rocket launched from the HIMARS MRL system, following a pattern observed in other similar situations.
